November 2020

However you celebrate it, I hope you can connect with family and friends face to face or virtually.

This past month, your club has continued to be very busy. Even though we meet once a month formally, we continue to forge opportunities to meet in the interim through volunteer efforts.

In October, we gathered together, nearly 50 volunteers strong, to help clean up the Uvas Creek trail and surrounding areas.

In addition, your club participated in Dreampower’s “The Great Pumpkin Adventure”. At this special volunteer event, several of your fellow Rotarians donned their Halloween costumes to help direct and hand out candy to children with special needs.

This month (next week in fact), we are partnering with St. Joseph’s Family Center and seeking volunteers to help bake turkeys, assemble food plates, and distribute meals to the less fortunate in our city. That event will be followed by an organized effort to help with gathering and handing out toys for the YMCA’s House of Toys event. As a side note, as of this writing, we are in the beginning stages of organizing a special stocking for each child to be handed out at the event. Stay tuned, please, for more details!

Up next for our regularly scheduled meeting is guest speaker Tom Cline, President of the Gilroy Garlic Festival.

The meeting will be on Zoom. Please tune in for an informative hour of club updates and get information on what is next for the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Also, on deck is a planned Holiday get-together for December 4th. However, with COVID-19 restrictions looming, stay tuned for changes.
